To be eligible for a water-saving shower head under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program, you must meet the following criteria:

• ​ Property : The property where the upgrade takes place must be in Victoria as residence with current electric, water and gas connection.
• Customer : The person who is authorising the upgrade must be 18 Years and over.
​ Shower Head Condition
​•The shower head you’re replacing must have a water flow rate of more than 9 litres per minute or be rated below 3 stars.
•Existing shower head is physically connected to a water supply.
Prior Claim
You must NOT have claimed this upgrade previously for the property under the Victorian Energy Upgrades Program.
Installation Limits
​There is a limit of three shower heads per residential property, while there is no limit for non-residential premises.
Installation by Accredited Provider
​Your new, water-saving shower head must be installed by a provider accredited under the VEU program.
​ Approved Product
​The new shower head you choose must be an approved product listed on the VEU Register of Products.
​ Replacement Requirement
​The existing, inefficient shower head must be removed and recycled by the accredited provider at the time of installation.

How to Determine Your Shower’s Flow Rate
​To see if your shower qualifies for a replacement, follow these simple steps:
• ​Place a measuring bucket underneath your shower head.
• ​Turn your shower on to its maximum flow for exactly 15 seconds.
• ​Measure the amount of water you’ve collected.
• ​Multiply that amount by 4 to get your flow rate in litres per minute.
​If the result is over 9 litres per minute, you are eligible for a free water-saving shower head installation.

Note:
Both homeowners and tenants are eligible for this upgrade. For rental properties, it’s recommended that tenants and landlords collaborate on the upgrade.
