Hot Water System
Electric heat pump hot water systems are an innovative and energy-efficient way to provide hot water for your home or business. Unlike traditional electric or gas hot water systems that directly generate heat, heat pumps work by extracting heat from the surrounding air (even in cold conditions) and transferring it to a water tank. This process is similar to how a refrigerator or air conditioner works, but in reverse.
How they work
A heat pump hot water system typically consists of a heat pump unit and an insulated storage tank. The heat pump unit draws in ambient air, extracts the heat from it, and uses a refrigerant to transfer this heat to the water in the tank. This makes them incredibly efficient, as they only use electricity to move heat rather than create it. Some systems may also include an electric booster element for times of high demand or very cold weather.
